We Were Talking was my first recording project as leader, and producer Jeff Reilly graciously gave me free rein over every aspect of it. As such, it’s a wild mixture of solo marimba, Zimbabwean thumb piano, electronic experiment and contemporary jazz with two great musicians at my side – Mike Murley on saxophone and Bill Brennan on piano. – Mark Duggan

These performances were originally recorded at the CBC studios in Halifax in May of 1993, and were broadcast on “All the Best” – a CD full of energy, excellent musicianship, imaginative arrangements, and colour!
