Congratulations to the 2024 WCMA award winners!
Congratulations to all the nominees, winners, and performers who helped celebrate Western Canadian music and musicians this past weekend at the 2024 BreakOut West festival, conference, and Western Canadian Music Awards in Saskatoon, SK!
A very special congrats to:
- Allegra Chamber Orchestra, led by Artistic Director Janna Sailor, whose 2022 Centrediscs release Mascarada (featuring the work of Associate Composer Alice Ping Yee Ho) earned them the award for Classical Artist or Ensemble of the Year.
- Associate Composer Farshid Samandari, who took home the award for Classical Composer of the Year for his choral work Light of Lights (Redshift, 2022).
