A very special world of music exists here in Toronto, in Canada.

I’ve been fortunate to experience it from many angles: as a musician, a curator, and a listener.

What exists here is also an intersectionality and openness that makes us unique in a way I have yet to find elsewhere in the world. This is a direct result of our community and of our people.

I’m very proud to present this program as an invitation for us all to consider the many approaches one can take when creating composition, and the many people who lie outside or on the edge of conventional thought. 

I also hope to make space for this, as it is what makes us distinctive.  It is essential at this moment in time when support and resources for art and creativity seem so precarious.

A reminder that creative expression is fundamental to a healthy vibrant community.
