Jérôme Ducharme, First Prize Winner in the 2005 Guitar Foundation of America Competition, studied at the Montréal Conservatoire with Jean Vallières and in Switzerland with Oscar Ghiglia. In this recital, featuring a guitar made by René Wilhelmy, Ducharme performs Falla’s Homage to Debussy, Rodrigo’s Tres piezas españolas, which evokes the stamping feet of a flamenco dancer, and Appalachian Summer, a theme and variations written for the 2005 GFA Guitar Competition by Matthew Dunne.
