Magdalene Wood

Ottawa violist Lisa Moody and pianist Dina Michelson Namer are pleased to announce the release of their new CD Magdalene Wood, a collection of works for viola and piano by acclaimed Canadian composers. This CD marks the debut recording for each of these exceptional works.

The title Magdalene Wood was inspired by Timothy Findley’s novel The Wars. The central theme of the CD is lamentation for human and suffering and redemption through music.

Our thanks go out to CBC Radio-Canada and Les Productions Dephinus producer André Massicotte and recording engineer Peter Sutcliffe for their invaluable expertise in the completion of this project.
