Parr(A)cousmatique

A guitarist and composer devoted to contemporary music, Arturo Parra presents here five mixed works created in collaboration with five notorious practitioners of acousmatics, works which have been presented live a few times since their creation. This trajectory full of surprises (one can hear the sounds of Stéphane Roy, Mauricio Bejarano, Francis Dhomont, Gilles Gobeil and Robert Normandeau) is linked by Parra’s guitar playing, highly dextrous and compelling, and with just enough poignancy; a boundless playfulness, mixing latin sonorities and a solid avant-gardist approach which every afficionado of the instrument will enjoy. Style-wise, this might not be the usual empreintes DIGITALes fare; it still provides for as rich and rewarding a listening experience as you may hope for.
