Michelle Boudreau is a composer and speaker, as well as the founder and artistic director of Musiques Itinérantes MI ltée. In composition, her research concerns structure, matter, gesture, theatrical and visual integration. She has composed many pieces for different musical groups and music theatre.
“I give priority to the human voice in my compositional work, but I admit I love percussion and brass instruments just as much! I have selected these pieces because they reflect some of my stylistic features as well as several key periods in my life. I consider the voice an opening onto opera and theatricality. Warm and emotionally intense, the voice conveys such energy and such a broad field of signifiers that I feel I am still too reasonable to stop being fascinated by it.” – Michelle Boudreau
