In general, my pieces tend to portray the way I feel while composing them – a sensation of flow, of involvement and full immersion, which can only be experienced when I focus on nothing but the present moment or task at hand. My hope is that, while listening to my music, individuals will forget that there is anything else outside of the concert hall for a moment, and will feel surrounded by time pulsating in the shape of sounds.
The following piece presents a Vortex construction (more specifically, a Vortex 4. 3. 1. 1. 2.1): a rippled development, where the material expands up and downwards in the same time scales, repeated in full each time and transposed in an intervallic, non- tonal pattern. Unlike some of my previous works where vortices are built on melodic lines, Ripples in Time attempts to create for the first time a vortex texture on a single pitch.
