Tide Pool (2022) for Satoko Inoue: a tide pool is a small pool of seawater that is caught in the rocks by the edge of the sea. It is like a small world, where every day there is something different caught there, sometimes a starfish, sometimes a sea flower or just seaweed. I felt that this piece is a bit like a tide pool, framing small things in a subtle, gently fluctuating sea of sound, where the pedal is down and it is very wet and resonant, and the colours shift ever so slightly from time to time.
