Elliot Weisgarber penned this work in Phoenix, Arizona in the late summer of 1956. Its dedicatee, Weisgarber’s friend and colleague Hans-Karl Piltz loved it instantly and adopted it into his principle repertoire.

American born and trained, Weisgarber seems to have developed an international style with convincing lyricism at times, and modern percussiveness and incisiveness at others. His themes are well stated and ably developed, and he makes very skillful use of many sonorities possible between the two instruments. …..”
