Cast:

Pianist (Music),  A Man and a Woman, Narrator (optional), Small crowd (optional)

Synopsis:

A man and a woman are unable to draw closer to each other. Shadows seem to rise between them. The man sees a distant light and is conflicted. He wants to stay with the woman in her natural setting, but he leaves to follow the distant light.

The woman dreams she is flying on the back of a Heron spirit to the other side of the cosmos, to a distant realm of poetry. The wind of the universe is in their ears as though they were inside a great poem! When she awakens she cannot remember the wonder of the dream.

The man returns. (If desired, a small crowd accompanies the man and adds to the separation of the pair, before it disperses.) An aspect of nature (wind, snow falling of a tree ect.) separates the two and at other times draws them closer. Once again the man leaves to follow the distant light.

The woman is alone. A heron feather blosws near her feet. She picks up the feather and feels its silken lightness, and suddenly remembers all the wonder of ther dream.
