Symphonic Movement for Youth Orchestra (originally Symphony for Youth Orchestra) was commissioned in 1980 by the Kingston Youth Orchestra with the assistance of the Ontario Arts Council. It was premiered in Kingston, Ontario in 1981. The current version replaces the manuscript score and parts.
