“Anna’s Aria” from new opera Chinatown by Alice Ping Yee Ho and Madeleine Thien, with Hoisanese co-writer Paul Yee. A commissioned work by City Opera Vancouver to be produced September 13-17, 2022 at the Vancouver Playhouse.

Anna was sung beautifully by soprano Katy Clark, accompanied by pianist Jialiang Zhu. The aria describes young Anna singing to her love Eugene, her dreams and sorrow of leaving Chinatown in search of her future.
