“Written with his friend Lenny Breau, Bob added a syncopated line in the backing horns to give prominence to the lead trumpet melody. This composition is a reflection of the open jazz that Miles Davis was pioneering in the late 50’s-60’s. It is an unusual situation for Bob, as he generally speaking has an affinity for complex chord structures and this is likely why he decided to make a more challenging horn part for the octet arrangement.” -Jessica Erlendson van Remmen
