Judith Berkson (US) – voice & electronics

Composer-performer, Judith Berkson’s music incorporates solo voice,acoustic piano, Franz Schubert and Robert Schumann and undergroundmovements in noise and electronic music. Her music has been featured inThe New York Times, Wall Street Journal, The New Yorker, and on NPR.She has collaborated with the Kronos Quartet, City Opera, Laurie Andersonand has worked with new music ensembles including Mivos Quartet, WetInk, Yarn/Wire, Experiments in Opera and the Boston Microtonal Society.She has recorded for ECM Records, has written two operas and severalmultimedia works. Her latest opera Partial Memories is about forgottenfemale artists Janet Sobel and Mary Gartside and was featured at theNODO Festival in Ostrava in 2022. She is currently based in Los Angelesand New York.
