Canadian Composer Series
Internationally-acclaimed Vancouver clarinetist performs the music of Pierre Boulez, Paul Dolden, Giorgio Magnanensi, and John Oliver. Houle has taken the idea of Boulez' "shadow dialogue" as inspiration for a program of works where the sound of his clarinet becomes the core of rich sound textures.
Canadian drummer, composer and bandleader Jay Boehmer has been performing on the Toronto jazz scene since 1990. Composing at the piano with the spirit of a drummer, his music ranges from straight-ahead swing to offbeat rhythmic grooves.

Diversion is the second album from Noma, an ensemble formed and directed by trombonist Tom Walsh. It was recorded live at La Sala Rossa in December 2002 and at the Music Gallery in Toronto in 2000.
