Awakenings is four-way collaboration of composer/performers Carol Ann Weaver and Rebecca Campbell, based on poetry of Di Brandt and Dorothy Livesay.More than anything else, Back To Back, is about teamwork, in this case the team of Canadian Hugh Fraser and Virgin Islands expatriate, Jean Toussaint. The players bring to bear on this collaboration their enormous talents, honed over the course of their already remarkable careers.

Influenced by artists as diverse as Lamonte Young, Terry Riley, Neil Young and Dirty Three, their [The Beans] epic instrumental compositions are as breathtakingly beautiful as they are imaginative and intricate.Mr. Underhill writes: "I have long been fascinated by the unusual and poetic place-names for lunar features which were created by Johannes Ricciocoli in the mid-17th century. One such name is the 'Bay of Dew' or 'Sinus Roris' in Latin. The 'Bay of Dew' is in fact a crater on the moon, but in my mind, I envisaged a tiny body of water that had been entirely created by the gradual collection of precious drops of dew as they formulated in the early morning hours."Go to Top
