Raum's The Legend of Heimdal and other works for Tuba and Orchestra.More than anything else, Back To Back, is about teamwork, in this case the team of Canadian Hugh Fraser and Virgin Islands expatriate, Jean Toussaint. The players bring to bear on this collaboration their enormous talents, honed over the course of their already remarkable careers. The sounds here represent the wide open way we play for warm listening jazz club crowds. The solos stretch and the individuals go for it. It's exciting, rough and honest - a snapshot of one very special night for us - our first ever live recording.Dancing Rivers
from South Africa to Canada
Carol Anne Weaver's third CD, Dancing Rivers - From South Africa to Canada, is adventurous, unique, ground breaking.Journey Begun is a musical “genre-bender,” bringing together a folk/blusey singer, funk/classical pianist, groove/new music guitarist, classical/jazz bassist, and classical string quartet to create new musical fusions which set unique colors for this refreshing collection of Canadian and American poetry."These mature works point the way toward an integration of the folk and structuralist elements of Western music at the end of the twentieth century. Clearly the ideas of nationalism have not died, as long as composers such as Neceski continue to use their ethnic roots as a basis for their art." - Menon DwarkaGo to Top
