The members of the Trio Collectif and the Canadian Electronic Ensemble first met in Annecy, France in 1989. From the beginning, it was obvious that both groups shared many ideals and aesthetics. A freindship between the members of the two ensembles grew quickly, leading to their first collaboration in Canada in 1992. The Banff Center For The Arts agreed to a three-week residency for the SUPERTRIO, during which the group developed and recorded a repertoire of new works for release on this compact disc.
