Patrick Wedd – organist, harpsichordist, composer and choral conductor – was born in Simcoe, Ontario in 1948, and has lived and worked in Toronto, Vancouver and Montrea. Wedd has made his mark as an organist, a church musician and as a proponent of contemporary music. A frequent performer on the CBC, he has opened new instruments in places as varied as Adelaide Australia, Campbellton New Brunswick, and Toronto, where he gave the first public recital on the Gabriel Kney organ at Roy Thomson Hall.

The Carthy Organ (Opus 3623) was designed, engineered and built by Casavant Frères of St. Hyacinthe, Quebec. The 74 stops, 110 rank organ has 6 008 pipes ranging in length from 31 feet to less than half an inch and varying in weight from 93 kilograms to 100 grams.
