World renouned Canadian composer, Eleanor Daley, along with the Choirs of Fairlawn Heights United Church, Toronto, have just released a compact disk entitled What Sweeter Music. This delightful recording showcases twenty-one of Ms. Daley’s original Christmas choral compositions and is a long awaited companion to the 2000 premiere recording of her works, Canticle to the Spirit.

The recording, conducted by Ms. Daley, encompasses compositions for the senior choir, Intermediate Treble Choir,
Triple Quartet, Men’s Choir and her Woman’s Quartet, « El’s Angels ». Guest artists include two acclaimed Canadian musicians – harpist, Erica Goodman, and pianist, Lydia Adams, Conductor and Artistic Director of the highly regarded Elmer Iseler Singers and Amadeus Choir.

Born and raised in Parry Sound, Ontario, Eleanor Daley has been the director of Music at Fairlawn Heights United Church since 1982. A prolific composer, Ms. Daley has a remarkable gift for melody. Her works are most notable for their sensitive interweaving of text and music. She has well over 80 choral works published and is commissioned extensively throughout North America. Her compositions have been widely performed, recorded, and aired throughout North America, Great Britain, Europe, South Africa, Korea and Japan.
