Golden Fire
Introducing Golden Fire, a recording of three works of sublime listening pleasure. The music is melodically ravishing, rhythmically captivating, and expressively profound. Timothy Sullivan, best known as a composer of opera (Florence: The Lady with the Lamp) and ballet (entre-deux), presents a premiere recording of three new works: A Magic Casement, a song cycle about the fanciful world of faeries for two voices and two pianos; Two Pianos, a rhythmically captivating score which toured North America with the Dance Theatre of Harlem; and A Soft and Golden Fire, with the poetry of James Joyce bathed in the Celtic atmosphere of flute, voice and harp.
