Featured on this compact disc is Wu-Yu, the winning work in Vienna Modern Masters' Third Annual Orchestral Recording Award Competition. The other four works, by composers resident in the United States, Canada, Japan and Austria, are also heard here on compact disc for the first time.A Canadian Piano Album is an important new release by Allen Reiser, a pianist well known for his dedication to Canadian music. This recording will be of great interest to performers, teachers, senior piano students and Canadian music enthusiasts, as it contains many of the most popular and often performed piano works of ten outstanding Canadian composers.Drawing on such musical sources as Cuban lullabys, East Indian music, folk, jazz, Yoruban songs and impressionist harmonies, Bridges was recorded between May 1992 and May 1993 at The Music Gallery in Toronto, Ontario.Christina Petrowska Quilico recorded this disc shortly after performing these works at the 1992 Winnipeg New Music Festival.Go to Top
