Canadian Music for Strings
I Musici de Montréal has been an important part of the Montreal concert scene since 1983, the year that the orchestra was founded by cellist Yuli Turovsky and his wife, violinist Eleonora Turovsky. It presents more than one hundred concerts per season, and to date has more than thirty recordings to its credit. Among the awards garnered by this group are the title « Ensemble of the Year » from the Canadian Music Council in 1987 and the Diapason d’Or for the recording of Shostakovich’s Symphony No. 14 in 1988.
