The “Celebration Overture” was written in 1998 for the 125th anniversary of the incorporation of the Town of Richmond Hill, Ontario (of which the composer had been a long-time resident) and was premiered by the York Symphony Orchestra.

For this celebratory, uplifting, brisk fanfaric piece the orchestra can – if desired – be joined by massed drums, if they are judiciously placed somewhat distant from the stage area.
