Four-hand piano works are one of my favorite genres; these works take me back home and remind me of good memories from the best years of my life when I used to play duos with a friend of mine who is a wonderful pianist. Back then, I never imagined that one day I would write my own piano piece for four hands. However, the idea of writing a piece for four hands started to grow in me when I took piano ensemble class in fall 2010 and the piece was completed for the pianist/composer collaboration on spring 2011.
Unlike most of my pieces, Chakameh is not a programmatic piece. My only intention was to write a piece that would require a close collaboration and enjoyable experience between the two pianists to create the musical sound world that I wanted.
