Program Note: Turmeric is named after both the colour, and the spice – both of which I associate with Marnie Carter. Musically, Turmeric is a little bit melancholy, even when it is most energetic. Thank-you to Marnie Carter for performing and championing Canadian music of many composers, including myself, it was an honour to write for you.
