Overture from The Ballad of Isabel Gunn for Piano Trio

Stephanie Nakagawa performed the soprano arias from Jean’s opera, “The Ballad of Isabel Gunn” at the Jean Ethridge Celebration Concert October 27, 2017, in Vancouver BC. at the Murray Adaskin Salon. The concert, presented by the Canadian Music Centre, BC Region, featured Jean’s chamber compositions for violin, violoncello and piano, and her soprano songs. Stephen Scobie, the librettist of the opera, was in attendance. The Overture, which Jean arranged for piano trio, was premiered by Ken Lin, violin, Luke Kim, violoncello, and Nina Horvath, piano. A medley of melodies from the opera prepares for the opening of this dramatic saga.
