Written during a contract at the Calgary restaurant and live music venue called the Calabash.  This was a regular weekly engagement, where new material was played often by the composer. This would have been a contract signed by his partner Gib Monks and likely was regularly presented as a quintet piece.  The club owners loved that Bob composed original music for their venue and he did this regularly during his career.
