« One thing I ask of the Lord; this is what I seek:
that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life,
to  gaze  upon  the  beauty  of  the  Lord,
and to seek him in his temple. » (Psalm 27:4)

I’ve always been fascinated, perplexed and amazed by this verse, especially the idea of gazing on the beauty of God, whom our eyes cannot now see, with a singleness of focus and desire. In this piece, I’ve tried to musically convey  an awestruck, reverent wonder along with a childlike excitement and delight – both, I feel, appropriate responses  to the hope of beholding perfect, divine beauty. -Rebekah Cummings
