Talencourt is by pianist-composer Matthew Davidson which continues to explore his interests in music outside the Western concert stage. There are five short songs which explore popular forms; a string quartet that quotes prison work songs and Cajun dance music; a string trio that has elements of Czech, Mexican, Quebecois, and medieval Jewish music; and a work for viola and piano that uses melodies of Basque, Hungarian, and Finnish origins, as well as a medieval chanson. In addition, there is a free bonus disc enclosed.
