This piece follows the theoretical writings of ancient Greek philosophers such as Aristoxenus who explained how tetra-chords made up of what we now call ‘quarter-tones’ are used in a melodic context. The idea of the piece came from reading The Little Prince in its Greek translation which gives a very strong feeling of the heart rather than the English translation of the Little Prince’s words in the original French: “Voici mon secret. Il est très simple : on ne voit bien qu’avec le coeur. L’essentiel est invisible pour les yeux.” -Le Petit Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry
