Kensington suite is a set of dances based on melodies and adaptations of music from the Askenazi wedding music tradition also known as klezmer music. Suites like these are frequently found on the 78 rpm recording we have from the early part of the 20th century. The 78 rmp format only allows for about 4 minutes of recording, but dance suites at wedding could go on for much longer and have many tunes following one another. Even at modern weddings in north America a dance set can go on for 40 minutes.
