Winter’s End was written for a concert that was presented as part of a Lenten noon-hour series.
The song describes the late days of winter and early days of spring, the growing warmth,
interrupted by cold winds and late season snow. It describes the fields with rows waiting to be
planted, the early flowers and the relief when spring finally arrives ‘none too soon’.
