“There isn’t a huge amount of music written for his instrument, and TSO Double Bass Timothy Dawson wanted to add to the repertoire.
He commissioned a piece from his friend, Canadian composer Donald Coakley. A composer, musician and the former assistant co-ordinator of music for the Scarborough Board of Education, Coakley wrote a bass-piano duet, entitled “Colloquy No. 1,” and Dawson has generously offered this video recording of it as his very special, world premiere Musical Moment!…”
