Three distinguished composers [Kuzmenko, Ho, and Hatzis] have enriched the double concerto form with beautiful works and a rare pairing of violin and piano, enlarging the Canadian and international classical music repertoire with Centrediscs’ latest release, SHADOW & LIGHT.

« The three distinguished Canadian composers on this CD have enriched the double concerto form with beautiful works, enlarging not only the Canadian repertoire but also international classical music. Double concertos pairing violin and piano are rare. Music for this combination includes only one concerto by Haydn, another by Mendelssohn and a few 20th-century works. With all the stars aligned, it was our good fortune to document three wonderful Canadian contributions to this engaging form together with two soloists possessing vast experience with new music.” – Nurhan Arman, conductor
