Violinist Marta Hidy has been a musical dynamo in Canada ever since she arrived here from Hungary in 1957. Now, for the first time on CD, a number of recordings by Marta (which on first release were issued in very restricted quantities and questionable quality) have been assembled and restored to pristine, modern-day standards, aptly demontrating her fiery Hungarian musical instinct.

A thoroughly enjoyable and accessible disc, 20th Century Violin Classics is the perfect CD for violin enthusiasts, for those who enjoy a variety of repertoire, and for those who want to get their toes wet a little further into the music of a century that is quickly drawing to a close.
