This new edition on the Centrediscs’ Prairie Sounds imprint showcases the talent of saxophonist Jeremy Brown who has been a champion of Canadian composition throughout his career. In this recording, he presents chamber works by five Canadian composers, each of which has their own special approach in writing music for the saxophone.

« Recitative and fantasy as a compositional device permeate all the works, but it places Brown – the protagonist – at centre stage; his colourful sound and expressive vocabulary never tire. »

– Wallace Halladay, Wholenote

This Centrediscs recording was made possible through the financial assistance of the Alberta Foundation for the Arts funding support and the generous use of the Eckhardt-Gramatté Concert Hall, and Yamaha Canada Music Ltd.
