This piece was commissioned by the Laurel Duet: Genevieve Micheletti, violin and Daniel Brown, viola with support from the Canada Council for the Arts. Daniel asked Flores to write a piece for his wife Genevieve to celebrate the birth of their first child and their life together as a couple. This piece is comprised of four movements: I. St. Lawrence River where the couple met while studying at Domaine Forget; II. Bryce Canyon where Daniel proposed to Genevieve; III. Magpies which symbolizes their life together in Calgary and IV. The Rocky Mountains which is one of their favourite destinations since moving to Alberta. This piece was premiered on May 8, 2022 at cSPACE, King Edward by the Laurel Duet in Calgary, Alberta. This concert was presented by the Instrumental Society of Calgary.
