Theremin Composition Workshop | Featuring Pamelia Stickney

Join theremin player Pamelia Stickney, in the midst of the 100th anniversary of the theremin, as she provides a lecture and demonstration on writing for the instrument. Pamelia will demonstrate various techniques, and discuss the differences and similarities between writing for theremin and writing for voice or strings. Composer Alexander Rapoport will also be on hand to discuss his use of the theremin in his sonatas. If you are unable to attend in person, be sure to watch the workshop on livestream.com.

About Pamelia | Pamelia Stickney is an American theremin player. She has performed and recorded with many artists including David Byrne, Yoko Ono, Béla Fleck and the Flecktones, Seb Rochford, Otto Lechner and Simone Dinnerstein, and was instrumental to the final design of Robert Moog’s Etherwave Pro Theremin, for which she was the primary test musician.
