CMC selects Karen Ng as new curator for CMC Presents concert series

For immediate release, May 15, 2023 (Toronto ON)

The CMC is pleased to announce the selection of Karen Ng as the new curator for its CMC Presents concert series. CMC Presents is a 6-8 concert series taking place primarily at the CMC’s performance space in downtown Toronto consisting of all manner of music and sound-based events: chamber concerts, improvisation, interdisciplinary collaborations (theatre/dance), sound art installations, and more.

Karen brings a wealth of experience from the free improvisation, jazz, and avant-pop realms as well as a curiosity for the deep collection of music contained in the CMC catalogue. The CMC was impressed by Karen’s experience, connections to the community, and enthusiasm for the work.

Over the coming months, Karen will be working with outgoing curator Nick Storring to ensure a smooth hand off and continuity in the series. Nick’s last curated concert will take place on May 25th at the Chalmers Performance Space (20 St. Joseph St.) at 7:30. This concert features Kayageum player Roa Lee and Tar player Araz Salek.
